Our Story
Fuzlie came from watching the world fall in love with Punch-kun a baby Japanese macaque at Ichikawa City Zoo in Japan who was abandoned shortly after birth. Unable to cling to a real mother, he found comfort in a soft stuffed orangutan. He dragged it everywhere. Slept wrapped around it.
Why a plush toy
When you hold something soft a blanket, a pillow, a stuffed animal your body responds. Heart rate slows. Cortisol drops. Your nervous system gets the signal that you are safe. Psychologists call this the attachment object effect. We call it obvious.
